Shine On Campaign

Please consider contributing to Trinity’s repair and restoration campaign

Dear Friends,

Since its founding in 1889, Trinity has been a place for inspiration and faith, artistic creativity and social justice, a multi-cultural community that intentionally welcomes diversity. Today Trinity is a vibrant and growing congregation of more than 200 members. Our congregants include long-time community residents, visionary young adults, and new immigrants from Latin America and Germany. Trinity serves over 1,000 people annually through its social ministries.

While our church family is strong, our 100-year-old building unfortunately is not. In February of 2010 we embarked upon the Shine On! capital campaign to raise money to save our building. We are seeking funding from three primary sources—the congregation, supporters of Trinity Place Shelter, and grants available to buildings, like Trinity, on the National Register of Historic Places. As of the end of March 2010, we are very optimistic we will reach our goals.

Capital campaigns can be taxing on organizations, but we are blessed to say the opposite has been true for our church. We have seen new leaders emerge from the congregation. Existing friendships have been made stronger, and a strengthened sense of community now exists between our congregation’s three services. With this campaign we are uniting as we never have before—something that is worth far more than money.

We hope you’ll join us in lifting up our church and this campaign in prayer. We also hope you may consider a financial contribution, but isn’t only about raising money to fix a building—it’s about energizing a community of faith that we hope will be a presence in the Upper West Side for another hundred years.

Shine on!
